In reading Joshua chapter 9 this morning this statement in verse 14 struck me (NKJV), “…but they did not ask counsel of the Lord.”
I was wondering, “Is this not really why we have so many conflicts and problems in our lives?” I believe that asking for His guidance does not prevent problems and issues in our lives; it just gets rid of a whole lot of unnecessary and very troubling tripping points and challenges.
In putting it into context of Scripture, I see that the Lord is really wanting to protect me. Instead, I choose to do this one on my own. “Ouch! Why is it so difficult for me to learn?”
I think we need to strongly seek the Lord for His guidance all the time. And even in seeking His guidance, we need His help.
