SOMETIMES, if not all the time, when we pray we expect the Lord to relieve us from the trial or the struggle we’re currently in by the time our prayer ends. Sometimes we expect Him to completely take away the pain or hurt with the snap of His fingers. There are times where God is able to do this because He’s God – He can do anything! But then there are times where He doesn’t. It would be easier, right, if God did it all the time? It would be better for us – life would be so much more grand if it worked that way.
But oftentimes, when that’s not the case, when the prayer ends and we are still in the trial or struggle, we get upset with God. We think He doesn’t care. We think He’s not hearing our prayers, our cries of help, our pleads of deliverance. But what if God wants to show us that with His strength, we can persevere. With Him, we can overcome anything? And through Him, we have the victory?
{1st John 5:4-5 (NKJV), “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world – our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”}
What if He wants to remind us that He’s with us in every season of our lives, that He’ll never leave nor forsake us, that He’s faithful in every hardship? We aren’t victims to the schemes of the devil or to what life through our way, but we are victors in Jesus Christ! Keep your eyes on the Son and not the stormy clouds – He will see you through! Through the storm, He is Lord, Lord of all!
