This year we had around 50 young people (ages 14-32) that attended at Camp of the Good Shepherd. It was great to see kids there that wanted to get closer to the Lord and be around godly fellowship. In today’s society, you can see many teenagers and twenty-year-olds having no interest in the things of God. But we are very blessed here at Light of the World to have youth from around the area participating in camp every summer! We give God all the glory for what He has done and what He is going to do!
This year’s Camp was a little bit different from those in the past. While we were looking for more quality rather than quantity, I believe we got both. We started off the morning times with small groups, breaking up the boys and the girls into teams of about 6-8 people. We had discussions over various topics such as: identifying the voice of God and the voice of the devil, healthy relationships, dealing with temptations, etc. The feedback we got from those groups was very encouraging.
Also, the Lord gave us favor with the weather, as we were able to go swimming each day and play some games such as: soccer, ultimate ball, death hack, and kickball. In the evening, we had a time of worship and different individuals shared messages that the Lord laid upon their hearts. Every person that got up to speak had something to say.
Overall, this was one of the best youth camps I have ever been to. The presence of God was among us and many young people got a touch from God. We look forward to doing it all again next year! 🙂
